When I went to Swaffham Prior to shoot the ‘Heating Swaffham Prior’ project, I ended up going on a weekend, which meant that they weren’t actually working on it. Therefore, I was planning to return during the day. And during the week, to capture the work being done, but I got a bit busy so I couldn’t find enough time to revisit the village.

The weather in Swansea made it a little tricky to spend lots of time out and about, so I did most of my shooting on one day, before the rain took over. I was very fortunate to get to walk along a portion of Swansea beach which gave me a great opportunity to creatively shoot and produce some interesting images. I really like my black and white image of the beach through the gap in the fence.

 

For the exercising images, I tried to keep the focus, of COVID-19 impacting someone’s usual routine when it comes to keeping fit. Many people, including myself, had to move our fitness routines outdoors and out of the gym in order to follow the Government Guidelines that were put in place at the beginning of the first lockdown. I've found moving into Cambridge really useful with this, because there's usually always someone exercising somewhere around me, so that wasn't an issue for me.

 

With documentary style photoshoots, you don’t necessarily always know what your going to get as this genre is often perceived as realistic, so I had a rough idea of what I was hoping to achieve with each shoot, but not knowing exactly who, what or even where sometimes, it made it interesting for me. It also gave me the chance to practise thinking on the spot and doing an assignment within a time frame.
